The States of Alderney are looking for a Greffier of the Court and States of Alderney. Please be advised that this post is not employed by the States of Guernsey, therefore please do not submit applications online.
The role will entail acting as Clerk of the Court of Alderney, Clerk to the States of Alderney when sitting as the Island’s Parliament, Land Registrar, Company Registrar, Registrar of Beneficial Ownership, Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages, Sergeant and Sheriff.
You will be responsible for the overall organisation, management direction and control of all operational areas as listed above.
In the role of Clerk of the Court the post holder will report to the Chairman of the Court. For all other roles and responsibilities the post holder will report to the Chief Executive of the States of Alderney.

- Satisfactory, Basic Police Check, which can be obtained, at the candidates own expense, from the Guernsey Vetting Bureau, New Jetty, White Rock, St Peter Port, after an offer of appointment has been made. Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children

- Possession of a valid Employment Permit
Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
