The Position
An exciting opportunity with the Islands emergency Ambulance Service provider for a new recruit to become part of our dedicated team, striving to provide excellent patient care, with future opportunities for career progression. CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS 31st August 2021
Responsibilities
Working primarily Monday to Friday (38 hours p/w) for the Non-Emergency Patient Transfer Service to transport low dependency patients in a caring and compassionate manner.
Working flexibly when required to provide relief cover for emergency ambulance operations. This will require working unsociable hours including nights, weekends and public holidays when the post-holder will deliver urgent and emergency care to a wide range of patients.
Experience
- Existing First Aid training desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working within a care environment is an advantage.
- Clean manual driving licence with a minimum of 12 months driving experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
Skills & Qualifications
- The role requires a genuine commitment to caring for others and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- A full manual driving licence held for at least 12 months (minimum category D1/C1) however training may be given to obtain this licence for the right candidate.
- Qualifications - minimum 5 GCSE's at grade C or above including maths, English and a Science, or equivalent, to allow for career progression.
- Ability to obtain the Emergency Care Assistant qualification.
- Ability to obtain an emergency driving qualification (ability to travel off-island is essential to obtain this qualification).
- Full flexibility to working hours.
