The States of Guernsey is seeking to appoint an Electro Bio-Medical Engineer.
The Electro Bio-Medical Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplined team of Engineers and Engineering Technicians. The main responsibilities are acceptance testing, scheduling and monitoring of planned preventative maintenance and the repair of medical equipment.
The role ranges from the management, repair and maintenance of hundreds of relatively simple devices such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) units, Nebulisers, Temperature Monitors, Flow meters and Regulators to highly complex medical equipment such as Multi-Parameter Patient Monitors, ventilation equipment, Defibrillators and Anaesthetic Machines.
The successful candidate must be registered with a professional Institution, IEng or minimum of HNC in engineering or electronics. Candidates not meeting the criteria, but hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in an engineering subject or an equal and approved alternative qualification and are seeking development, may be considered at a lower grade at Technician level (EGII), moving to EGIII upon completion of training.

- Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check. Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft, violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
- Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
- Possession of a valid Employment Permit
Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
