Full Time
We are seeking to recruit a Crime Scene Investigator to join the team at Law Enforcement.
The post-holder will be required to work and train as a member of the Scientific Support Team within Bailiwick Law Enforcement (BLE). The primary function is to attend and examine scenes using specialist, approved techniques to visualise, capture and recover evidence and gather information and intelligence as part of an investigation. This includes securing DNA and fragile trace evidence exhibit, photographic exhibits and analysis, comparison and evaluation of fingerprints against computerised and manual reference samples to identify individuals and act as an expert witness in Crime Scene Investigation when required.
Due to the business needs across BLE, the role significantly differs to those within the UK, requiring individuals to operate at a higher level and incorporating a range of administrative duties in support of the organisation’s forensic capability.
As a consequence, subject to the applicant’s experience, an incremental approach will be taken to training and development over the initial 5 year period, subject to individual performance and aptitude.
The post entails significant off island training. Additional travel may also be required for CPD and operational requirements. As well as working as part of a small team there will be the need to undertake lone working and the ability to work flexibly including weekends and Bank Holidays and participate in an out of hours ‘on call’ rota. Successful candidates will be required to sign a training indemnity agreement.
Due to the nature of forensic investigations, the post holder will be required to attend annual mandatory welfare appointments.
