The States of Guernsey are looking for a Learning Support Mentor - Enterprise and Employability to join their team at The College of Further Education for a 2 year fixed term contract.
Guernsey College of Further Education is seeking to appoint with effect from September 2022, or earlier if possible, an enthusiastic and committed person who is passionate about enabling young people to fulfil their potential. The Learning Support Mentor (LSM) will help young people in developing employability skills for those students who have disengaged due to lack of exposure to positive work experience.
The post-holder will provide a professional service to support students that enables them to participate effectively in appropriate placement and employment opportunities. They will support innovative work placement and employment opportunities to meet curriculum requirements.

- Occupational Health Clearance
- Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check. Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft, violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.

The post holder will therefore be required to undergo an Enhanced and Barred List DBS check and is recommended to be registered with its Status Update Service.
