Team Description:

The Restructuring and Recoveries Team's purpose is to help minimise avoidable losses, in order to enable Investec's continued growth for our clients, employees and shareholders.

We are a client facing team who achieve this by providing expert support, objective challenge and situational expertise.

We are therefore an independent and leading voice on challenging situations.

Description of the role and key responsibilities:

A client facing recoveries banker to support existing team manage challenging loan workout situations (predominately but not limited to Real Estate security) either consensually with clients or if required via appropriate enforcement channels (Fixed Charge Receivership or Administration).

The candidate will be required to support existing team members establish and run appropriate recovery strategies that will mitigate potential losses and ensure timely recoveries for the Bank.

Ideal candidate will have experience within Real Estate (MRICS 2 years post qualified) ideally with experience within a recovery's role or an experienced banker preferably with regulated mortgage experience.

Essential Functions:

• Day to day contact with clients in or potentially likely to fall into default.
• Liaise directly with third party stakeholders such as lawyers, insolvency professionals, surveyors, agents and borrowers
• Lead asset strategies, disposals and enforcement processes where required
• Preparation of strategic proposals to Credit Committee
• Complete Annual, Credit and External Audit reporting across portfolio
• Liaising with internal Legal Risk in respect of loan documentation and Lending Operations re Receipts/Drawdowns etc.

Core Skills and Knowledge:

• To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
• Property Expertise, RICS 2yPQ
• Recoveries Experience
• Strong sector specific legal knowledge
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills – particularly in hostile and challenging environments
• Report writing
• Analytic skills and cash flow modelling.
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
• Understanding of property and lending principles
• Strong IT skills (Word and Excel) and basic financial modelling

Any attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:

• RICS Registered Recevier
• CeMaps (Levels 1 -3)
• FCA Regulated Banker
