What are the main responsibilities?  The Bank Funding Group & Transactional Banking Finance team supports the business as a true finance business partner – this includes production of financial and management reporting. The role's focus will be supporting the Bank Funding Group & Transactional Banking desks within the bank, as well as support for the wider teams' responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet substantiation files  • Monthly variance analysis – provide commentary and breakdowns on income statement and balance sheet movements
• Detailed balance sheet and income statement forecast modelling, using various data inputs and business engagement  • Drive the reporting of business performance, forecasting and budgeting  • Detailed analysis of allocated and direct costs
• Assist with ad hoc reporting for management reporting purposes
• Assisting with the preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statement disclosure packs  • Assisting with the preparation of regulatory submissions
• Audit queries during annual and interim audits
• Performing reconciliation between ledger, source systems and risk systems, including investigation and resolution of breaks
• Reconciliation of inter-divisional and intercompany balances
• Timely escalation of issues/concerns
• Provide cover for team members during periods of absence

• Qualified accountant
• Strong academics (essential)
• Financial and Management Accounting knowledge for a banking business
• Systematic approach in analysing and solving problems with good attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel and data manipulation skills
