Habitat Assessment & Restoration Ltd (HAR) is a young and fast-growing ecological consultancy based out of Edinburgh. HAR is dedicated to conserving seabirds and restoring their habitats throughout the British Isles and beyond. Role Description
One of HAR's seabird habitat restoration projects is based on Guernsey and its surrounding islands/islets. In delivering this project, we see the incredible importance of empowering the local community to take ownership of the project in the immediate and long-term future. We are thus seeking an individual who has a presence on Guernsey to be the connection between HAR and the project delivery in Guernsey. The role is flexible, with either a part or full-time position available.
This role requires a dynamic, innovative and purpose-driven individual who will be willing to support the project in a variety of disciplines. At its core, the right person for the role will have the confidence to deliver impactful communication and stakeholder engagement programmes locally. Empowering the local community to take responsibility for the habitat restoration project into the future. Furthermore, in collaboration with your ecology colleagues and other environmental and health and safety disciplines, the role will have a key focus on supporting habitat restoration and management through ecological field work and technical report writing.

Key responsibilities
- Leading local ecological surveys covering baseline ecology, invasive predatory and seabird surveys.
- Monitoring and managing the habitat project implementation on a day-to-day basis.
- Working in collaboration with our clients to develop and implement communications and engagement strategies for the habitat restoration project in Guernsey.
- Collaborating closely with landowners, land managers, conservation groups and local communities to foster an environment that supports involvement and contribution around the projects.
- Oversee all external communications, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, HAR reputation management, and social media, to positively influence target audiences.
- Function as a leader, contributing to corporate initiatives and driving organisational success.

- Knowledge of ecological restoration principles is advantageous.
- Good report writing skills, displaying high standards with attention to detail and ability to write accurately and concisely.
- Knowledge of wildlife legislation including planning processes and/or EIA/HRA assessments and undertaking surveys is desirable.
- Full clean driving license.
