This is a varied opportunity suitable for either an experienced technical specialist or a senior analyst, depending on qualifications and experience. The role will involve supervisory oversight of licensees in the banking and insurance sectors, including full risk assessments, on-site visits, thematic reviews and policy development. This is an opportunity to contribute to the wider regulatory agenda and collaborate across divisions on matters of prudential, conduct and financial crime regulation.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering risk-based supervision in line with the PRISM framework across banking and insurance licensees.
  • Leading or supporting full risk assessments, file reviews, and on-site thematic inspections.
  • Reviewing applications for new licences, authorisations and exemptions.
  • Monitoring licensee performance, financial returns, and regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing high-quality documentation, including risk memos and board reporting.
  • Interacting with licensees, senior management and third parties, both locally and internationally.
  • Contributing to the development of regulatory policies, best practices and internal frameworks.
  • Supporting the delivery of cross-divisional and industry projects or reviews.
  • Assisting in enforcement processes and remedial action planning where appropriate.
  • Providing mentoring to junior staff and supporting a culture of continuous learning.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the banking and/or insurance sectors, gained either in regulation, compliance, audit or operations. A strong understanding of regulatory principles, risk frameworks and supervisory methodology is essential. Applicants will be considered for either the Senior Analyst or Technical Specialist level depending on experience. A relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA, ICAEW, CISI, CII or equivalent) is preferred. Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and sound judgement are key, along with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
