Banking, Insurance Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist (Insurance) to join the Banking and Insurance Division. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of the insurance industry in Guernsey, including an understanding of capital rules. They will provide experience in identifying and managing risks related to banks, including insurance, market, and credit risks. This role includes diverse responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth within the Bailiwick’s financial services sector and requires a commitment to maintaining the sector's high standards. Job Duties:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Safeguard and enhance the Bailiwick’s international reputation within the financial services sector. Assist in delivering PRISM risk-based supervision and policy creation. Implement the Balanced Scorecard and formulate plans to achieve business objectives. Assess difficult regulatory cases and provide guidance on license applications and exemptions. Supervise day-to-day notifications and submissions from licensees. Lead aspects of on-site supervision, including planning firm-specific visits and thematic reviews. Identify and monitor risks affecting the insurance sector and prepare reports for the Division. Communicate clearly and concisely with various stakeholders. Investigate complaints about licensees and cooperate with the Conduct team. Attend and chair professional meetings as needed. Liaise with internal staff and promote a collaborative culture. Participate in internal projects and initiatives to enhance supervisory processes.

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in financial analysis, risk management, valuation, or compliance within the insurance sector. Strong communication and written skills tailored to different audiences. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and represent the organisation in various capacities. Commitment to professional excellence and continuous personal development. Experience in leading projects and supporting team development. Ability to work effectively in a team across various levels of seniority.
