The duties of this role relate to the operation and development of the compliance function for regulated and non-regulated business within the BWCI Group.
What you would be doing
- Acting as MLCO, MLRO and Nominated Officer for the Company’s regulated entities
- Reviewing, preparing and presenting reports to the Board of regulated companies
- Perform risk assessments to understand risk level, significance and scope
- Maintain manuals and procedures as necessary in line with regulatory requirements
- Structure, review and undertake compliance monitoring programs
- Reviewing and updating procedures for the non-regulated companies of the BWCI Group
- Preparing periodic statutory returns to regulators
- Monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies
- Investigate irregularities and non-compliance issues
- Contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation
- Review presentations and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests
- Perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation and maintenance of ongoing administrative projects)
- Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance
- Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations
- Provide training to other departments on appropriate compliance issues
Who you will be reporting to - Head of Risk and Compliance
Skills and experience required
- High level of experience within a Compliance background is desirable, preferably in Trust or Insurance
- Sound knowledge of and experience with local AML/CFT framework and regulatory requirements, as well as good working knowledge of GFSC Handbook
- Compliance/AML qualification and/or professional body accreditation and/or relevant number of years’ experience in a Compliance Officer role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Previous experience holding positions of MLRO and MLCO preferable
