Our client is looking for an Assistant Manager who will take accountability for supporting the Store Manager in leading the team to achieve sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service. As an experienced and commercially focused retail manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store, maximizing sales and profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer service through effective team management. Job Duties Drive sales and profitability of the store, achieving outstanding results. Set an example and deliver exceptional customer service. Maintain high visual merchandising standards and ensure store housekeeping standards are continually met. Plan and manage Health & Safety aspects in compliance with company standards. Oversee store stock control, stock count, payroll budgets, and targets. Motivate and support the team in achieving and exceeding objectives. Work with the Store Manager, Area Manager, and HR to handle people issues effectively. Support recruitment, training, and development of the team. Work with the Store Manager and HR to drive a high-performance culture. Develop strategic plans with the Store Manager to meet business goals and objectives. Analyse sales trends and develop action plans to turn around underperforming areas. Manage cash handling, banking, and safe procedures in line with company standards. Ensure proper till management, including opening tills, issuing tills, cash handling, and managing variances. Work with the Loss Prevention team to develop and implement control measures to prevent theft and system errors. Job Requirements Strong coaching and development skills to establish a high-performing team. Enthusiastic, driven, and motivated. Previous line management experience within retail and customer service. Proven track record of driving sales and profitability. Exceptional customer service orientation with a strong ability to multitask. Ability to meet deadlines and handle competing priorities.
