Trainee / Mortgage Executive

Our client is seeking a Trainee / Mortgage Executive to join their Operations Department. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for managing mortgage loan processes and ensuring timely and accurate completion of mortgage transactions for the business Mortgage Fund. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams and with external professionals to maintain high service standards while adhering to regulatory and risk management requirements. Job Duties Take ownership of mortgage loan processes, including additional advances, renewals, repayments, and other transactions. Assess borrower and property-related information to ensure compliance with lending criteria, regulatory requirements, and risk management policies. Review and analyse mortgage-related documentation for accuracy, risk factors, and regulatory adherence, submitting findings to the Credit Committee. Process mortgage loan applications from the front office and manage renewal and repayment requests from client services. Instruct solicitors, valuers, and other external parties to act on the Fund’s behalf, ensuring smooth and accurate transaction handling. Oversee loan completion processes and manage loan recovery where necessary, ensuring transactions are executed accurately and on time. Ensure transactions align with the Fund’s credit risk and financial crime policies and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements. Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery. Job Requirements Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external professionals. Capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy environment. Problem-solving mindset with the initiative to drive continuous improvement. Experience in lending (ideally residential mortgage-backed lending) is desirable but not essential; transferable skills and a willingness to learn are welcome.
