The Trainee Fund Accountant will undertake bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a portfolio of active venture capital funds. The successful candidate will support the Fund Accounting team in producing accurate client deliverables within agreed deadlines, adhering strictly to the organisation's policies and procedures. The role offers exposure to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ensuring that no two days are the same. This position involves working closely with experienced colleagues and is integral to delivering excellent service in a competitive market. Job Duties Complete relevant training to gain an understanding of different clients and fund structures. Undertake bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a tailored portfolio of venture capital funds. Support the Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants with a more complex portfolio of clients when necessary. Assist with producing quarterly management accounts and annual audited accounts in accordance with IFRS and FRS102. Assist with responding to audit requests in a timely manner. Provide the relevant information to tax advisors to facilitate accurate tax reporting. Respond to clients' ad hoc queries and monitor the client mailboxes to ensure timely responses. Work closely with the Fund administration team to ensure accurate accounting records and timely book-keeping of transactions within various fund entities. Attend professional qualification courses and undertake exams to complete the qualification. Job Requirements A self-starter with the ability to work accurately under pressure. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Strong computer literacy and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of the financial services industry. A-Level qualifications/equivalent or university education. English and maths GCSEs (or equivalent) are essential.
