To assist with driving positive change in the Island’s energy landscape through crafting compelling campaigns, engaging content and impactful communications that inform and inspire our community to embrace the sustainable energy transition.

Social Media Management

· Assist with planning, developing, scheduling and monitoring all social media content across multiple platforms

· Liaising with various teams across the business to ensure engaging and informative content delivered in a regular, timely and appropriate format to Islanders

Events

· Assist with management and co-ordination of events including on-site and external activities

· Lead on planning and logistics of events including sourcing volunteers to assist at the events.

Communication and Marketing Support

· Support the team in a variety of areas including:-

  • Campaign planning and execution

  • Business Development support

  • Management of public email box

  • Sharing corporate news on internal network homepage

  • Drafting communications and marketing products

  • Liaising with external creative agency

  • Responding to staff and customer queries on various channels

Planning and Reporting

· Support the planning and scheduling of communications and marketing activity

· Track and report on campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements where applicable

· Monitor trends and ensure GEL is at the forefront of innovative and engaging communication and marketing activity

· Ensure consistency in messaging and adherence to brand guidelines across communication, marketing and engagement activities

Budget Management

· Assist with administration of the financial budget including

  • Raising purchase orders and ensuring invoices are paid on time

Track spending and update records and forecasts accordingly

· Prior marketing or communications experience

· Social media proficiency

· An active interest in sustainability and sustainable energy

· Good research, copywriting and proof-reading skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

· An understanding of contemporary trends in effective communication

· Excellent people and communication skills

· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite desirable
