Underwriter OR Assistant Underwriter (Commercial)

One of our key clients, a leading general insurer is looking for an organised and self-motivated Underwriter or Assistant Underwriter (Commercial) to join their growing team in Jersey OR Guernsey. This is a pivotal commercial underwriting role focused on SME business—working closely with brokers to underwrite, retain and grow a diverse portfolio across home, motor and commercial risks. Responsibilities include: Managing and underwriting SME cases within agreed authority, processes and risk appetite Building strong relationships with brokers to identify, discuss and convert new and existing business Supporting the development and performance of the Commercial team and SME proposition Maintaining and developing an underwriting/client portfolio, tracking KPIs and supporting colleagues You should be a confident, engaging communicator with a passion for customer service, who enjoys relationship-building and collaborative team environments.
