Our client is seeking a Trainee Fund Accountant to support the delivery of accurate financial reporting for venture capital funds. This role offers strong technical development alongside support towards a professional accounting qualification! Location Guernsey , Channel Islands Duties for this role include, but are not limited to: Undertaking bookkeeping, accounting and reporting for a tailored portfolio of venture capital funds. Supporting Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants with more complex client portfolios when required. Assisting with the preparation of quarterly management accounts and annual audited financial statements in line with IFRS and FRS 102. Responding to audit requests accurately and within agreed deadlines. Providing relevant financial information to tax advisers to support tax reporting. Monitoring and responding to client queries and shared mailboxes in a timely manner. Working closely with fund administration teams to ensure accounting records are accurate and transactions are correctly recorded. Completing relevant training and attending professional qualification courses and examinations. Skills / Qualifications The ideal candidate will have A-Level qualifications or equivalent, or university education, with English and maths GCSEs (or equivalent) essential. They will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, good problem-solving ability and confidence working under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, alongside good computer literacy and an interest in the financial services industry. A willingness to learn and commit to professional studies is key to success in this role.
