We’re looking for a Finance Operations & Payments Specialist to join our team on a 12month fixed term contract, covering a period of parental leave. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of Channel Islands and international accounts receivables. From managing payment systems to reconciling suspense accounts, you’ll help maintain the integrity of our financial operations and keep our payment processes running smoothly and securely. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve discrepancies, maintain high quality financial records, and support compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Calculate monthly amounts; input and check bank details, advising and communicating to the customer accordingly. Follow up to ensure payments are received and accounts accurately maintained.
Manage and take overall responsibility for the collection and submission of all direct debit payments, including rejections.
Manage the BACS/LBX payments system, receiving and resolving all BACS Payments requests. Follow up to ensure payments are received and accounts accurately maintained.
Manage International payments received in foreign currencies to ensure that payments are recorded, applied correctly and reconciled.
Manage the administration and control of Suspense Account and unallocated payments to unsure that they are followed up and resolved timely.
Own the 1st Line Accounts Receivable reconciliations processes, ensuring 100% accuracy of all reconciliations at month end.
Receive and deal efficiently with all enquiries, using specialist knowledge and expertise to resolve queries.
Manage and resolve Customer refund requests.
Assist with simplification and efficiency processes as well as other ad-hoc projects.
Assist and support the wider team when necessary.
Proven experience in a Finance Operations / Accounts environment
Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to work efficiently and make decisions
High level of accuracy for both inputting & checking.
Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Systems
Proficient in Excel
Excellent Time Management skills
The ability to prioritise and plan ahead is essential
