Business Systems Analyst

Working within a Business Systems and Data team, this role focuses on improving processes, strengthening reporting capability and enhancing system performance! It is ideal for someone who enjoys translating business needs into practical technical solutions. Location Guernsey , Channel Islands Duties for this role include, but are not limited to: Designing and implementing business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 tools. Exploring and applying low-code and no-code platforms such as Power Apps and Power Automate. Designing and maintaining business reports using SSRS, Power BI and SQL queries. Supporting the development and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse within Microsoft SQL Server. Ensuring data accuracy, integrity and availability for business users. Assisting with configuration, testing and deployment of system updates and enhancements. Developing and executing test plans, including system and user acceptance testing. Providing day-to-day support for business applications in collaboration with IT Operations. Documenting and analysing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Translating business requirements into functional specifications. Liaising with software suppliers to coordinate support, upgrades and issue resolution. Supporting project delivery, including planning, documentation, testing and training. Exploring appropriate uses of AI and emerging technologies to enhance reporting and automation. Skills / Qualifications The ideal candidate will have experience in reporting and automation tools such as SSRS, Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform, alongside familiarity with SQL environments and data warehouse structures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. They will demonstrate clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with an understanding of business analysis, process mapping and system development lifecycles. A proactive, structured and solutions-oriented mindset is key to success in this role. Relevant certifications in IT, business analysis or Microsoft technologies would be advantageous. A basic police clearance is required for this position.
