Our client has created the Business Development Executive role to work closely with the Business Development Manager and the Head of Business Development. This role is essential for supporting partners and teams in executing their business plans through a range of domestic and international business development activities, both in-person and online. The postholder will engage with teams across various offices and jurisdictions to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans to drive growth. Building strong relationships within practice groups is vital, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the client’s key markets to establish a solid personal brand globally. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, with previous experience in an onshore or offshore law environment being highly advantageous. The role may require some business-related travel. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, this position sits within the wider Business Development and Marketing team. Job Duties Assist in the development and delivery of external and internal events and conferences that align with business development and marketing objectives. Manage designated global practice team’s business development plans in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team for seamless execution. Support lawyers in their preparation for business development trips, including coordination of materials, providing scheduling support, and conducting post-trip follow-up activities. Maintain and efficiently utilise the CRM system to accurately capture, process, and report on client, intermediary, and business development-related data. Contribute to the implementation of business development initiatives that support both departmental and firmwide growth objectives. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the global Marketing team to coordinate business development activities, communications, and campaign support. Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s practice areas, target markets, key messaging, and industry trends while attending relevant training sessions as necessary. Job Requirements Educated to A level or equivalent, ideally having completed a professional/relevant qualification in Marketing. Previous experience working in a law firm environment is desirable. Strong planning abilities and a commitment to teamwork. A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring delivery. Develop and demonstrate expertise in event production, including event contract procedures, logistics, and audience management. Confidence, resilience, and a pragmatic approach to adapting and managing unforeseen issues and changes. A proactive and enthusiastic attitude. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work. A supportive and committed team player. Experience using a CRM system is beneficial but not essential.
