Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially focused Management Accountant to join their finance team in Guernsey on a fixed-term contract of 12 months. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes, support month-end delivery, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Group, while also providing financial insight and support to inform operational and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will partner with colleagues across the business to offer financial insight that aids effective decision-making. Furthermore, they will work closely with senior stakeholders to translate financial results into actionable operational and strategic recommendations. This position involves leading budgeting and forecasting for designated areas, ensuring alignment with commercial priorities and business plans. They will also prepare and present monthly management accounts, highlight trends, risks, and opportunities, and investigate errors and anomalies while providing meaningful analysis and practical solutions. Job Duties Partner with colleagues across the business to provide financial insight that supports effective decision-making. Work closely with senior stakeholders to translate financial results into actionable operational and strategic recommendations. Lead budgeting and forecasting for designated areas, ensuring alignment with commercial priorities and business plans. Prepare and present monthly management accounts, ensuring all deadlines are met, with clear commentary that highlights trends, risks, and opportunities. Investigate errors, anomalies, and trends while offering meaningful analysis and practical solutions. Assist in producing clear, high-quality monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis for leadership review. Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls. Support process improvement initiatives across finance and wider business functions. Contribute to the annual audit process by preparing schedules and evidence. Job Requirements Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent). Strong management accounting experience with good commercial awareness. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and ideally some exposure to business partnering or a clear potential and desire to develop in this space. Confident communicator with excellent analytical skills and the ability to simplify and explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Strong systems knowledge, including Microsoft Office and ideally Microsoft D365 or similar. Proactive, organised, detail-driven, and committed to process improvement and adding value beyond the numbers.
