We are excited to be able to offer this role within the multi-disciplinary Office of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation (OEHPR) team of the States of Guernsey. The OEHPR is a small but busy team who deals with a broad range of matters affecting the physical environment and public health within the Bailiwick. This post is based in Guernsey although you will also have the opportunity to travel to and work within other islands in the Bailiwick (Herm, Sark and Alderney). The Environmental Health Officer will be expected to carry out a range of functions including, but not limited to, environmental pollution work, food safety, housing standards and statutory nuisance and infectious diseases investigations. We are happy to consider candidates with a variety of competencies and experience, although a background of housing standards and food safety work would be beneficial. For this role you must be a good communicator and team player. You will also need to be able to work confidently on your own, showing initiative, self-motivation and commitment. All positions offer the opportunity for occasional home working and flexible working arrangements.
