The successful candidate will be part of the client accounting team and provide essential bookkeeping services for Trusts and Companies. This role involves the day-to-day bookkeeping of bank statements, investment portfolios, property statements, and non-cash transactions from various source documentation. The post holder is expected to ensure adherence to bookkeeping procedures while maintaining the highest possible standards and delivering timely outcomes. The role may require collaboration with staff and third parties to resolve queries and facilitate smooth operations. Additionally, the Senior Bookkeeper may undertake specific additional tasks or projects as advised. Job Duties Undertake day-to-day bookkeeping from source documents, including banking portals, bank statements, investment valuations, property statements, and minutes. Review entity ledgers and bookkeeping records in advance of accounts preparation. Prepare lead schedules for accounts preparers, along with all supporting documentation to assist in the accounts preparation process. Notify administration staff of bookkeeping errors or non-compliance with specific procedures. Request or undertake corrective action where appropriate and highlight training issues where necessary. Assist administrative staff with queries related to bookkeeping and the implementation of the bookkeeping procedures manual. Liaise with administrators or third parties regarding information required as necessary. Provide periodic reporting on clients where necessary. Undertake specific additional tasks or projects as advised. Job Requirements A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience. Educated to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent. Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CAT) is preferable. Thorough understanding of double-entry bookkeeping. Experience with Jersey Trust and Company operations. Competent in the analysis, posting, and reconciliation of third-party valuations and statements. Ability to reconcile ledgers with VAT returns and statements from tax authorities.
