About the Role: The States of Guernsey are looking for an Activity Coordinator / Health Care Assistant for St John's Residential Home to join their team. St John's Residential and Nursing Home is a 39 bedded home that accommodates Residential and Nursing residents. The home prides itself on delivery of high quality, holistic care that is individual to each resident, and all care plans are written to try and take usual resident routines into consideration. All staff understand that when they come to work, they are working in the residents' homes and that their rooms are their personal and private spaces. We encourage families to be as involved as possible in their loved one's care. As a care home we have a team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Activities and Reception staff. All aiming to give our residents the best possible experience. States of Guernsey Careers: Activity Coordinator / Healthcare Assistant - St John's Residential Home - Band 3 (95624) This role comes with a competitive salary, progressive annual leave and entitlement to a pension scheme. We will also consider previous service in a substantive post in the NHS or Local Authority towards entitlement to annual leave, maternity leave and sick pay. Special Duty: Pay enhancements of 40% and 80% are payable for work carried out in unsocial hours in line with policy. Annual Bonus: Staff who are in post on 31 January will receive a lump sum payment every February. Relocation: For candidates needing to relocate to the Bailiwick of Guernsey for the post, we offer a relocation package to help with the cost of moving over to the Island. This relocation package offers different solutions depending on an individual's circumstances. Employment Permit : This role offers eligible off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit. This permit enables candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them. To be eligible for an Employment Permit, candidates are required to have 2+ years' relevant full time health care experience and hold a recognised NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), subject to UK and Guernsey Immigration Clearance where applicable.
