Head of Finance

This is a high-impact role within a growing and entrepreneurial business; an ideal opportunity for a senior accountant to step into a leadership role.. Working closely with the Board, the position focuses on financial strategy, governance and operational delivery. Location Guernsey , Channel Islands Duties for this role include, but are not limited to: Preparing annual audited financial statements and liaising with auditors. Producing quarterly management accounts, budgets and cash flow forecasts. Managing billing processes and monitoring creditors and debtors. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including capital adequacy and liquidity. Supporting the Board in developing financial strategy and advising on financial decisions. Identifying and managing financial risks across the business. Acting as authorised signatory on bank accounts. Leading and developing the accounting team, including training and mentoring. Supporting wider business operations and administration functions. Leading client accounting delivery and ensuring deadlines are met. Preparing and reviewing financial statements for trust and fiduciary structures. Supporting investment monitoring and reporting processes. Driving process improvements, including automation and workflow efficiencies. Skills / Qualifications The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years' experience within the finance industry, including experience in a management or leadership role. They will hold a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA and demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge. They will have a strong technology background and an interest in improving systems and processes. Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. The successful individual will be proactive, detail-oriented and capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders, clients and team members.
