Our client is seeking a skilled Finance Director to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Finance Division. This role involves actively shaping the organisation’s direction as a key member of the Board. The Finance Director will develop and influence long-term business strategies while translating them into practical, measurable financial plans that promote sustainable growth. They will take full accountability for the Group’s Financial Control function, ensuring robust governance, accuracy, and compliance across all financial activities. This includes leading the preparation and continuous improvement of Monthly Management Accounts, Statutory Accounts, and the annual budgeting cycle. The ideal candidate will use hands-on analysis to drive insight, challenge assumptions, and support informed decision-making. Additionally, the role involves proactively leading and delivering ad-hoc financial projects, ensuring rigorous execution with a solutions-focused approach to enhance the organisation’s financial resilience. Job Duties Oversee the financial management, planning, systems and controls of the organisation. Lead the preparation, review, and continuous improvement of Monthly Management Accounts and internal controls. Act as a strategic business partner to Operations, providing insight and commercial support. Create and manage the annual budgeting and planning process for the organisation. Prepare and deliver monthly performance reporting. Manage the annual statutory financial statements preparation. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and strategic relevance in the Monthly Board Pack. Review accounting processes to drive efficiency and accuracy. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including auditors and tax advisors. Lead and develop the Finance Division to ensure high performance and accountability. Drive continuous development and training for the finance team to support professional growth. Manage and strengthen internal controls while evaluating risks to safeguard the organisation. Report to the Board on risks impacting organisational wellbeing and ensure corrective actions are in place. Review and improve business operations and policies for enhanced service quality and cost efficiency. Provide comprehensive management accounting services to the Board. Job Requirements Professionally qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Proven track record in performance and delivery of objectives in a professional and commercial environment. Highly numerate with comprehensive knowledge of accounting, taxation, and regulatory issues. Ability to support and develop the strategic direction of the business through innovative solutions. Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with the Board and all organisational levels, including external contacts. Strong organisational skills in a busy and dynamic work environment. Entrepreneurial approach to work and business. Tenacity to tackle problems and ensure satisfactory solutions.
