Purpose of Role As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide in-home support to vulnerable adults, helping them to live independently and safely in their own homes. You will support individuals with a range of physical and cognitive needs, including dementia and other complex conditions, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being at all times. Key Responsibilities: Provide safe and effective personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support Support clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and light domestic tasks Provide companionship visits, building a genuine relationship with the client Monitor any health conditions and emotional well-being Complete incident reports, body maps, and daily care notes to a high standard Keep accurate records of visits, highlighting fluid intake, skin integrity, social outings, and any changes in physical or mental health Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, reporting any issues that may arise Demonstrate strong safeguarding awareness, including recognising and reporting concerns Always uphold the company ethos and values Serve as a brand ambassador for HALo Represent the operations and company at meetings and undertake training as necessary Requirements: At least two years' experience in a caregiving role A license to live and work in Guernsey Willingness to complete the care certificate Can-do attitude with a real willingness to improve the lives of others Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of integrity Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to handle physical demands, such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Access to a reliable vehicle Enhanced DBS check will be completed before any offer of employment is made Two satisfactory references must be provided. This role will be worked over a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, evenings and weekends. The operating hours for the company are Monday to Sunday, 6 am - 10 pm; you may be expected to work within any of those times. Options to work overnight support shifts are also available at times. Duties General Ensure that the good public image of the Company is maintained, dealing with clients and other organisations in a professional and polite manner Any other duties, commensurate with the nature of the post Other Attend staff training, such as FAW courses as required Attend staff meetings when required Remuneration Competitive hourly rate at £17 per hour, starting at 5.6 weeks' holiday. We pay enhanced rates for unsociable hours. Unsociable hours are classed as from 5 pm to 10 pm at £20.06 per hour. Saturday at £20.06 per hour and Sunday at £24.75 per hour and £33 for bank holidays. All travel time and mileage paid either by mile or company-issued fuel card.
