We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance function on a contract basis (6 months), supporting a period of transformation, systems change and increased regulatory and reporting demand. This is a hands-on delivery role, working closely with the Finance leadership team to drive finance process improvements, enhance reporting efficiency and strengthen financial controls. The role will suit a qualified accountant with strong financial reporting and finance operations experience, who is comfortable operating autonomously and delivering tangible outcomes in a change environment. The role can be based in Guernsey or Jersey . Key Accountabilities Finance Project Delivery Lead or support defined finance transformation and improvement initiatives, delivering agreed outcomes to time and quality standards. Conduct end-to-end reviews of financial reporting and finance operations processes, identifying inefficiencies, control gaps and opportunities for simplification or automation. Design, document and implement improved processes, controls and workflows that are practical, proportionate and sustainable. Systems Implementation & Optimisation Support tactical enhancements and changes to finance systems, including general ledgers, reporting tools and reconciliation platforms. Act as a finance subject matter expert on systems initiatives, supporting requirements definition, testing and validation, data migration and reconciliation, and post‑implementation embedding. Identify opportunities to improve automation and optimise the use of existing systems, reducing manual effort and key‑person dependency. Finance Operations & Control Improvement Review and enhance finance operational activities, including reconciliations, transaction processing, expense controls, month‑end close and group reporting. Strengthen financial controls, documentation and governance in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations. Support internal and external audit activity, helping to address findings and implement sustainable remedial actions. Change & Knowledge Transfer Create clear process documentation and user guidance to support change delivery. Ensure effective knowledge transfer to permanent team members, embedding improvements and promoting continuous improvement across the Finance function. Financial & Regulatory Reporting Support Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness. Assist with statutory accounts, regulatory returns, group reporting and management information, particularly during peak or change periods. Provide technical accounting input, including interpretation of accounting standards and regulatory requirements where required. ​ Requirements Essential Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent). Strong experience across financial reporting and/or finance operations. Proven involvement in finance projects, process improvement or systems change. Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and regulatory reporting. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Advanced Excel capability and strong systems aptitude. Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple workstreams and deliver to deadlines in a contract environment. Desirable Experience supporting finance or ERP system implementations or upgrades. Knowledge of automation tools, reporting platforms or finance transformation methodologies. Financial services experience. Exposure to regulated environments and audit remediation activity. Formal project or change management experience.
