Role Purpose Part of your role will be supporting the availability of the platform and working to help deploy new features, supporting engagements across our client portfolio, both in the UK and globally. This is not a client-facing role, but a key element is a desire to improve the process and the solution by identifying and recommending any opportunities to extend, improve or add new functionality. Your role will be to collaborate with our development teams to help them deploy software, expand the platform, and ensure that the end user experience is stable and secure. We use a range of tools to manage deployment and configuration, and we are always looking for new ways to streamline and automate our processes. Role Responsibilities: Administering the SQL Server installations that form the core of our analytics system Administering our server estate, split across Windows and Linux Utilising and improving our software deployment pipelines Working closely with our development teams to improve their environments and remove blockers Engaging with our support team to provide 3 rd /4 th line support for the platform Responding to alerts from our monitoring platform Logging issues in our bug tracking software Escalating issues to our internal hosting and IT support team Pro-actively engaging in the long-term maintenance of the platform, including proposing and implementing solutions for migrating to new platforms, improving our current practices etc. Working closely with the technical controls team to maintain the security of the platform and implement upgrades where appropriate. Support the working relationships between the Spotlight DevOps team and key stakeholders in associated teams. Required Skills & Experience: Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (and onwards) database administration, including: Performance tuning Debugging error states Backups Disaster recovery Security Windows Server 2016/2019 administration Windows .NET service administration, including installation, editing app.config files and monitoring Using PowerShell to automate administrative tasks Basic awareness of Active Directory concepts Basic awareness of enterprise network concepts Working with technical support at vendors where required Desirable Working with NuGet packages Configuring Octopus Deploy Working in a helpdesk environment IR35 As a means of managing tax, commercial and reputational risks, Deloitte prohibits the use of Associates through Personal Service Companies (‘PSCs’). All Associates must contract under PAYE arrangements through a Deloitte approved ‘Employment Company’ (aka ‘umbrella company.’)
