We are looking for an experienced End User Compute Analyst to join our growing IT team.

Candidates will have a solid background working within a busy IT team; experience in supporting technical solutions.  Excellent customer service, organisational, communication (both verbal and written) and prioritisation skills are essential.

The role

This role is to ensure the smooth functioning of End User Compute that support applications and systems, including Citrix, Windows 10, and Mobile Devices. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to help improve the firms’ systems, procedures and knowledge base by contributing and collaborating with others.

The candidate will be the responsible for the day to day administration and escalation of End User Compute, including incidents from the Service Desk\Applications Team along with monitoring and supporting the existing end user computer related technologies. The End User Compute Analyst will have a solid background working within a busy IT team; experience in supporting technical solutions. The End User Compute Analyst must have strong experience of technical troubleshooting and problem solving.  Depending on projects and tasks, the individual will be required to be available for queries during out of office hours.  In addition, as part of this role the individual will be expected to deal with critical system issues as and when they occur.

The End User Compute Analyst will need to interface with the Application Teams on ensuring software deployments of Business and Service Line Applications in a timely manner.

The End User Compute Analyst will work with the Engineers of the infrastructure team to implement improvements to End User Compute Technologies.

Responsibilities**

  • Management of End User Compute systems, based on Windows 10, Office 365, Azure, Server 2016, Citrix and Mobile Devices
  • Application Deployment to Windows 10, Citrix and Mobile Devices including modifications to MSI based packages
  • Ensure End User Compute systems are patched
  • Primary responsibility for monitoring the End User Compute systems across the firm
  • Management of corporate End User Compute infrastructure, including Citrix, SCCM, Airwatch
  • Monitoring Citrix environment and other related systems to assure quality, performance and very high levels of availability
  • Monitor and troubleshoot End User Compute endpoint issues eg Anti Virus, Azure AD
  • Keep operational documentation up-to-date for those areas of responsibility
  • Primary point of contact for End User Compute escalated issues from the IT Service Desk or Application Teams

Technical experience**

It is preferable if the applicant has experience in these areas:

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager including OS and extensions into Cloud
  • Excellent understanding of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and including integration with Hypervisor
  • Excellent understanding of Application management technologies like Microsoft App-V and Ivanti AppSense
  • Excellent understanding of Office 365\Azure including deployment of Office Client Software eg Office, Teams, Skype for Business
  • Excellent understanding of Modern Device Management including Airwatch and Intune
  • Excellent understanding in scripting, packaging, and testing software installations (VBScript, T-SQL, PowerShell, InstallShield/Wise)
  • Excellent understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Excellent understanding of Windows 10
  • Software licensing and software asset management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012R2/2016/2019
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.5+
  • Relevant IT qualifications an advantage

The department**

The IT department is made up of a team of 12 which includes an Infrastructure Team Leader, an IT Infrastructure Engineer, an Infrastructure Analyst, an Applications Administrator, a Services Manager, Finance Systems and Reporting Services Manager, Software Specialist Manager, Project Manager, Document Management Manager, IT Infrastructure Architect, Data Architect and IT Partner. The IT department, based in London and Bristol, is responsible for the provision of IT services and support to 10 offices across the UK.

Role reports to**

This role will report to the IT Infrastructure Architect.

**

Hours\Travel**

Monday to Friday, 35 hour week, working the hours of 09:00am to 5:00pm (the service desk operates from 8am – 6pm). However, to allow for holiday cover, project delivery, system updates, etc there will be the requirement to change to an alternative shift or completed overtime outside of the core hours.

There will be on occasion be a requirement to travel to our other offices.

An out of hours rota is in place on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays between the hours of 8am and 5pm. This will rotate between this role, and the other two Infrastructure Engineers, resulting in 1 week on, 2 weeks off at this time. It will be expected that during times of illness and holiday this rota will be changed appropriately.
