Financial Controller – Trust, Guernsey

A well-established financial services provider is seeking a capable and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the management of its accounting records and deliver timely financial and management reports. This is a key role within the Group Trust Finance team, requiring a hands-on individual with strong technical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities • Oversee Group Trust Accounting and Reporting, maintaining a high standard of service for the management team. • Plan and prioritise the preparation of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) to meet strict deadlines. • Manage the billing process and assist in the control of debtors. • Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare financial statements. • Develop the annual financial budget in collaboration with relevant departments. • Liaise with auditors to support the annual audit process. • Apply strong working knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Excel, Navision, SAP, Adaptive Insights, and Worksite. • Address problem-solving and accounting queries as they arise. • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc reporting as required. • Provide support to the wider Financial Accounting and Reporting function within the Group Trust Finance team. Skills and Experience Required • Proficient in the use of computerised accounting systems. • Demonstrated experience in preparing accurate financial reports and statements. • Strong communication, organisational, and presentation skills. • Solid understanding of the regulatory environment in Guernsey. • Knowledge of accruals, prepayments, and fundamental ledger principles (credits and debits).
