Contract Customer Engineer – Fixed Networks, Guernsey

Fixed-Term Contract until 31 December 2026 Our client is looking for a Customer Engineer to join the Fixed Networks team in Guernsey on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a varied, hands-on role supporting fibre and copper services for both residential and business customers across the Bailiwick. Working 37.5 hours per week, you’ll be responsible for the installation and fault resolution of leased lines, private circuits, data and voice services in a wide range of environments, including homes, offices, data centres and commercial sites. The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours callout rota covering nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. A full category B driving licence is essential. You’ll work both overhead and underground as required, including climbing poles and using ladders to install and maintain services. This is an active, customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working as part of a professional, supportive team. Key Responsibilities • Install and maintain fibre and copper broadband, voice and business services. • Support leased lines, ISDN, SIP services, data centre connectivity and residential products. • Carry out network cabling, including copper and fibre, and complete fusion splicing where required. • Assist with underground and overhead plant installation and recovery. • Communicate with customers and internal teams to coordinate work effectively. • Provide occasional support in Alderney and Sark for installation or fault resolution. • Participate in the callout rota to provide out-of-hours cover.
