An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Specialist to join the expanding Financial Crime Division. This division is dedicated to the financial crime supervision of a wide range of businesses and individuals. The division oversees a diverse array of entities, including banks, Trust and Company service providers, investment firms, insurers, virtual asset service providers, estate agents, law firms, and accountancy providers. Employing a risk-based approach, the team focuses on entities presenting higher residual risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. Key responsibilities include: • Leading or participating in AML/CFT/CPF on-site visits, including full risk assessments, thematic reviews, or event-driven engagements. Conducting research, analyzing data, and identifying key issues. • Reviewing post-visit feedback, producing high-quality reports or memos, and conducting concise file reviews to highlight areas of non-compliance. • Considering cases within the division’s remit, including regulatory actions, enforcement measures, and cooperation with the Enforcement Division. • Identifying themes from supervisory visits, assessing trends, and communicating key findings to the industry. • Coordinating management information and relevant indicators. • Assisting with the introduction or amendment of legislation, rules, guidance notes, and policies related to the division’s work. • Supporting special assignments related to supervisory and regulatory responsibilities. The successful candidate will have: • Proven experience in a financial services or similar environment. • Strong knowledge of the Handbook on Countering Financial Crime (AML/CFT/CPF). • Exceptional analytical, research, and report-writing skills. • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
