Ogier are offering legal scholarships to Caymanian students interested in pursuing a career in law. This year, we are accepting scholarship applications from students who have an interest in pursuing the LLB or PGDL/LPC/SQE/PPC.

Following success in obtaining one qualification (for example your LLB or GDL), you will continue to be paid for any further courses required to qualify as an Attorney. We expect students to maintain our academic minimum requirements (2:1 or Distinction), throughout their studies and to complete work experience placements with us, which generally equates to a period of four weeks during the period June to August in every year. When applying please answer the questions listed here and ensure you submit all documents (as listed below) at the time of application to avoid any delay in reviewing your application: - Cover Letter and Resume;

  • Proof of Caymanian Status;
  • Proof of Academics and most recent grades;
  • Proof of Degrees / Qualifications;
  • Offer/Acceptance Letter from University or other learning institution (including a list of fees associated with the offer);
  • Copy of Passport ID Page; and
  • 2 References less than 6 months old.

The standard of applicants each year is very high and we ensure that every applicant is given equal opportunity. Interviews will be organised during February/March and conducted by members of our trainee committee and a representative from the HR department. Our Scholarship award is for the duration of an individual's legal studies and consists of:

  • Financial support payable in twice yearly instalments prior to the start of each term/semester;
  • Guaranteed work placements at Ogier;
  • Invitations to social events at Ogier;
  • Use of Ogier’s library and information services; and
  • Careers advice from partners and other lawyers.

Applications for our Scholarship Programme are invited from students due to sit their A-Levels in the summer preceding entry into the programme, together with students already at university or undertaking the LPC/PGDL/SQE/PPC. Scholarships are provided in line with the academic year.
