Trainee Fund Accountant, (Intake: August 2026), Guernsey

Our client is a specialist fund accounting team working across venture capital clients in Guernsey. The team provides hands-on accounting and reporting services in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is recruiting for an August intake of Trainee Fund Accountants. Intake: August The Trainee Fund Accountant will undertake bookkeeping, accounting and reporting for a portfolio of venture capital funds, supporting Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants to prepare well-presented client deliverables within agreed deadlines and in line with the firm’s policies and procedures. Key responsibilities • Complete relevant training to gain an understanding of different clients and fund structures. • Undertake bookkeeping, accounting and reporting for a tailored portfolio of venture capital funds and support more complex client work when required. • Assist in producing quarterly management accounts and annual audited accounts in accordance with IFRS and FRS102. • Support audit and tax processes by responding to requests and providing required information. • Work closely with the Fund Administration team to ensure accounting records are accurate and transactions are recorded correctly. • Attend professional qualification courses and undertake exams towards completion of a recognised accounting qualification. Person specification • A self-starter with the ability to pick up work accurately and to perform under pressure. • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. • Strong computer literacy and problem-solving skills. • Knowledge of the financial services industry is desirable. Qualifications • A-Level qualifications/equivalent or university education. • English and Maths GCSEs (or equivalent) are essential.
