Who we are: Aviation Finance is a specialist lending desk within Investec Bank division which operates as a global team providing innovative funding solutions to the Aviation Industry with relationships with Airlines, Lessors as well as manufacturers. Investec has a strong record of developing high calibre candidates, providing them with excellent training and a dynamic and encouraging environment to work in. We strongly encourage our technical analysts to study for external qualifications while in the team to widen their understanding of aviation finance. Responsibilities: Supplier management, data extraction, data manipulation/modelling and attention to detail is the natural starting point for our analysts and the workload develops from there in line with business needs and the candidate's own drive and abilities. General responsibilities will include: Working closely with the Head of Technical to provide support in all aspects of the technical elements of aircraft leasing and finance. Modelling maintenance value and exposure in support of transaction analysis using the Aerlytix platform Monitoring the technical and operational aspects of on-lease aircraft managed by a third party supplier Supporting the pre-purchase and mid-lease inspection process performed by third party suppliers Developing market knowledge of the specific aviation assets Maintaining maintenance cost and interval data bases Supporting portfolio management, market analysis and risk analysis projects as required. Developing financial analysis knowledge to be able to support transaction execution projects Who are we looking for? The analysts that do best are self-starters who are eager to impress through working hard in a flat corporate structure in a team with an entrepreneurial approach to business. They are passionate about their work and have the ability to engage with a wide variety of different stakeholders Typically our team have a logical and analytical mind-set which has been developed through a technical qualification and working in an aviation technical environment. We are looking for individuals with a keen interest and experience in aviation, especially engine management, lease management and technical records, coupled with an inquisitive nature and a desire to find new and better solutions. An understanding of aircraft maintenance costs and customs associated with maintenance and engineering is essential. Airline experience is desirable. The ability to work remotely, with limited direct supervision and in line with UK business hours and the right to live and work in the country of employment with no restrictions is essential. Core Skills : To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory) Aviation Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory) Analytical Skills: ability to think critically, engage in analysis and make decisions. Relationship Management and Communication: ability to build and maintain strong relationships Ability to use IT tools to perform modelling and forecasting tasks. Willingness to learn: able to pick up new skills and technologies quickly. Market Knowledge: sound awareness of the aviation industry/economic landscape. Ability to prioritise and time manage projects and workload accordingly Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in aviation, or a numerical, computer science or financial discipline and/or; Aircraft Maintenance license issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency or similar national aviation authority issued under the ICAO regulatory framewor
