We are seeking a Client Accountant to join a highly respected fiduciary provider with a strong presence in the Bailiwick. In this role, you will be the guardian of financial records for a diverse range of Companies and Trusts. If you enjoy problem-solving, technical bookkeeping, and managing complex tax-related reporting, this is an excellent opportunity to settle into a long-term, supportive team. The Role As a key member of the accounts team, you will ensure the accuracy and regulatory compliance of a dedicated portfolio. Your responsibilities will include: • Financial Reporting: Preparing comprehensive financial statements for a variety of Trusts and Companies. • Tax Compliance: Handling essential tax-related work, including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and IHT reporting. • Specialist Documentation: Producing Solvency Certificates, tax certificates, and interest certificates. • Portfolio Maintenance: Maintaining stockpiled gains/losses reports and preparing monthly account statistics. • Regulatory Filings: Assisting with the submission of annual statutory returns for multiple jurisdictions, including Guernsey and the BVI. • Technical Oversight: Investigating discrepancies, solving accounting queries, and maintaining high standards within the firm's accounting systems. Who We Are Looking For We need a proactive team player who is comfortable working independently when required. • Experience: Practical bookkeeping and accounting experience is essential. While fiduciary experience is a plus, applications from outside the sector are welcomed. • Technical Skills: A solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP is required. • Qualifications: Ideally, you will be working towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CAT). • Communication: Confidence to liaise with internal teams and external contacts effectively. • IT Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experienced in using professional accounting software packages.
