Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 01 April 2019

### MONDAY

WEATHER

Although at least a degree cooler than Sunday, we are looking at a day that’s equally sunny and possibly more comfortable, due to a steady reduction in wind. First thing in the morning, we will have a force 4-5 ENE’ly, but this will drop off to force 2-3 during the afternoon and then it will fall light and variable overnight.

TIDES AND SURF

A pretty good wind for surfing, but the west-coast waves will only be knee-high at best. As for the tides; low water will be 3.1m at 11:30pm, high water will be 7.4m at 5:30pm.

TUESDAY

WEATHER

This is the day of big changes, as we wake up to an unremarkable force 4 NW’ly wind. This will be the conveyor belt that goes on to bring occasional rain through the morning. Behind that rain, will be a body of much cooler air, which will be the breeding ground for a few days of proper heavy showers. By the evening, there’s a good chance that we will have seen some hail, and a slim chance of thunder and lightning.

TIDES AND SURF

No useful surf on this day. As for the tides; low water will be 2.5m at 12:20pm, high water will be 7.9m at 6:10pm.

WEDNESDAY

WEATHER

Maybe the odd sunny spell, in between the heavy hail showers. Temperatures are unlikely to exceed 8-9C, so it’s fortunate that the N’ly winds will only be about force 3, so not too much wind-chill.

TIDES AND SURF

Another day without much excitement in the surf. Only about 2-3 feet of weak slop. As for the tides; low water will be 2m at 2:03pm, high water will be 8.4m at 6:50pm.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY

Marginally milder than Wednesday, possibly reaching 10C on Friday. Winds will be staying light and gradually veering to a broadly E’ly direction. This means that the quality of the 2-3 foot surf should greatly improve. As for the heavy showers of the previous days, I’m afraid it’s totally uncertain whether these will become more or less frequent, so just keep an eye on the updates for that.

THE WEEKEND

Winds ENE’ly, just like the weekend we’ve just had. However, this time it will be with slightly cooler air and probably a bit more cloud. However, all the showers of the working week should have cleared through, making it another dry and pleasant weekend in summary.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday.
