Friday
Weather
A moderate NE’ly wind will pick up through the morning, then veer to a strong N’ly around lunchtime. At the very least, this is going to feel cold. However, in terms of wetness, we should do slightly better during the morning at least (the key word being ‘slightly’, with sunny spells and isolated showers. The afternoon, much cloudier with the rain becoming persistent until it breaks up into showers again towards midnight.
Surf and Tide
Possibly a clean and chunky dawn session on the west coast and then some great waves at Petit Port mid-morning (hopefully some clean 3-footers there, before the swell dies away). Big tides again… 9.1m high at 7:50am and 2m low at 2:10pm.
Saturday
Weather
Staying showery through the morning but becoming dry and mostly sunny through the afternoon. Still feeling cool but certainly a bit more comfortable, with just a force 2-4 NE’ly breeze all day.
Surf and Tide.
A day of clean 2-foot waves on the west coast. Made slightly awkward by the tides unfortunately, because the cleanest waves look set for the afternoon, when the tide is low. High water will be 8.9m at 8:20am and low water will be 2.2m at 2:50pm.
Sunday
Weather
Shower’s remaining very isolated, leaving the day to feel relatively comfortable, with a mixed bag of cloudy spells and sunny intervals. With just a gentle ESE’ly breeze, the west and north coasts will feel most pleasant by a whisker, and who knows? if we're lucky, then temperatures might even reach double figures.
Surf and Tide
Clean 1-2 foot waves on the west-coast (all being well), especially during the morning. Tides getting smaller but still larger than ideal for surfing… 8.5m high at 9am and 2.5m low at 3:20pm.
Next Week
Monday will be very much like Sunday, because there will still be an outside chance of a shower but it should generally feel very nice and settled compared to recent times. We probably won't see any change from that pleasantness until the second half of Tuesday, when skies will gradually become overcast ahead of an occasionally wet night. From Tuesday night onwards, the week looks set to be relatively mild, as a low pressure system becomes slow-moving over the west of Ireland, and the Channel Islands benefit from a consistent southerly airflow. Spells of rain or showers will come and go, most of these more drizzly and murky than the biblical deluges of late. In between the wet times, there should also be plenty of lengthy dry spells that should encourage some outdoor activity. The surfing conditions are currently looking superb; clean as a whistle throughout the week, with small beginner-waves on Monday and Tuesday, hopefully followed by classic expert waves from Wednesday onwards.
The next forecast update should be ready on Sunday evening.
