Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 21 May 2026

Friday and Saturday

Weather

Friday will be just like Thursday in terms of sunshine (with a peak UV index of 7) and the gentle SE’ly morning breeze, backing to an equally gentle ENE’ly afternoon breeze. The differences, however, will be a max temperature of 26°C rather than 22°C, and the slim chance of a thundery shower in the evening. Emphasis on the word ‘slim’, because it’s far more likely to be just another dry and generally gorgeous golden hour. The breeze will turn N’ly for a time overnight though, allowing temperatures to fall right back to 12°C, so it’s great that we will have comfortable sleeping conditions after such a hot day. Saturday should then be super-sunny again, but just a degree or two cooler, due to a light force 2 NE’ly throughout the day. Zero chance of a thundery shower on this occasion, but there will be a fog bank or two in the Channel, so there is a slight possibility that the north or east coasts could have one or two misty moments. As such, the warmest spots will definitely be along the south coast.

Surf and the Water

Clean 2-3 foot surf on both days, and fantastic conditions for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Tides will be 7.7m high at 11:40am Friday and 7.3m high at 12:45pm Saturday. Low tides will be around dawn and dinnertime.

Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday

Weather

Much like Saturday, there will be a chance of some mist or fog patches drifting in from the north or the east, but the majority of the Island will be super-sunny throughout (with a UV index of 6-7 during the middle slice of the day). The breeze a light force 2-3 ENE’ly on Sunday, bringing a top temperature of about 27°C. Then on Bank Holiday Monday, a force 3-4 E’ly probably bringing the same temperature again. The minimum overnight temps being 14°C and 15°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be pretty clean, perhaps not quite as clean as the previous days. Sunday should be 2-3 feet and pretty weak, then BH Monday an even weaker 1-2 feet. Tides will be low at breakfast time, and high in the early afternoons… Sunday 7.1m around 2pm, BH Monday also 7.1m but around 3pm.

The Rest of Next Week

Weather

The E’ly wind will continue to bring continental heat, sunny skies and high UV. However, on Tuesday it will be moderate force 4 and on Wednesday it will be fresh force 5. This will mean a slight decline in daytime maxima (1-2°C lower each day), whilst maintaining overnight minima of 14-15°C. Thursday and Friday will likely return to SE’ly breezes but with slightly cloudier skies, balancing out to maintain maxima in the low to mid twenties.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be about 3 feet on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the wind might be a bit of a spoiler, especially on Wednesday (unless you’re a windsurfer or a kitesurfer that is). Then, I’m afraid, Thursday and Friday will most likely be flat. Low tides will shift forward day by day, from mid-morning to lunchtime. High tides will shift from mid-afternoon to dinnertime (increasing incrementally from 7.4m to 8.2m).

The next forecast update will be on Sunday or Monday…
