Thursday
Weather
After an unexpectedly clear-sky end to Wednesday, it really did get rather cold for a while. However, Thursday will bring a complete turn around, as we pick up a moderate WSW’ly breeze and pull in some milder air from the Atlantic. Weather-wise, it's going to be dry throughout, with a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine. Temperatures should peak at 10-11C, then only drop off to about 8 or 9C overnight.
Surf and Tide
Tiny little tides again, with only 2.6m difference between the early morning low and the lunchtime high. As for the surf, mid to late morning, should offer the best conditions, with some pretty clean 4-5 footers at Vazon and Portinfer.
Friday
Weather
Ooh dear… drizzly rain, mist and perhaps a little hill-fog. All that with a fresh force 5 to strong force 7 wind. During the morning the wind will be from the SW and then it will veer to W’ly later, when the rain scatters into showers 12C should be the top temperature, but you'll have to find somewhere really sheltered to appreciate it. town and Fermain will be your best bet.
Surf and Tide.
Increasingly choppy 6+ foot waves on the west coast. High water will be about 7m at 1:50pm. A great day for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
The Weekend
Current expectation is for Saturday to be mostly dry with just a force 4–5 WSW'ly wind. With skies being mostly cloudy, it's not looking like a particularly special day, but it does look like the final day of this weekend. Sunday will probably start off with a spell of heavy rain, followed by a brief break before some rather squally showers sweeping on the near-gale W’ly wind.
Next Week
The changeable nature of the weather is likely to continue to from day to day… alternating between soggy SW’ly winds and a drier but perhaps still showery NW’ly flow. Temperatures should stay around average for early winter, i.e. with daily maxima of about 10-11C, much like the surrounding sea temps.
The next forecast update should be on Friday evening.
