Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 04 April 2019

### THURSDAY

WEATHER

Today's showers will be more frequent today than yesterday, although they will ease off somewhat during the afternoon. As a result, there will be less blue sky on offer and, with a fresh SSW’ly wind, it's definitely going to be a hats and gloves kind of a day (only 9-10C on the thermometers but feeling more like 4-5C). To make the most of any brief afternoon sunshine, head to the more sheltered southern ends of either the east or west coast bays. Cloudy and damp overnight, making it a few degrees milder than the previous night.

SURF AND TIDES

1-3 feet and clean, with medium-large tides. Low water will be 1.6m at 13:30pm. High will be 8.7m at 7:30pm.

FRIDAY

WEATHER

Another dull and damp day, but slightly different in nature. This time we will have more persistent rain, rather than the showery stuff, and the risk of hail should also have passed. The air will be a degree or two milder, probably peaking at 11C, but still with a lot of wind-chill to factor in. This time the fresh wind will be from the SE, so the east coast will no longer offer any shelter.

SURF AND TIDES

2-3 feet and even cleaner. High water will be 1.6m at 13:30pm. High will be 9m at 7:40am and 8pm. Low water will be about 1.4m at 2pm.

SATURDAY

WEATHER

Drier and brighter and about a degree warmer than the previous days, but still rather cloudy and not entirely safe from showers. At the moment the timing and placement of weather fronts is really uncertain, so I should take this forecast with a pinch of salt. What does look fairly certain, is that the wind will be a moderate E’ly, so the west coast should be most comfortable, whatever the weather.

SURF AND TIDES

3 feet and clean! Get on it (especially in the morning to be in the safe side). High water will be 9.1m at 8:20pm. Low will be 1.3m at 2:20pm

SUNDAY AND MONDAY

Sunday looks just like Saturday in terms of wind, temperature and probably (but not definitely) dry weather. Little change on Monday, except for what currently looks like a greater chance of showers.

TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

Equally uncertain, but looking as though it will probably be wet, at least in part. Temperatures should be comfortably in the low teens, especially if we get some sunny spells in the mix. Winds will continue to be from the east, which will be good news for the 1-3 foot west coast surf.

The next forecast update will be at the weekend.
