Guernsey Weather Fox

7+day Forecast. Starting Wednesday 18/12/2019

Wednesday

Weather

Dry and bright, with a moderate breeze from the SSE. The chance of a shower during the daytime is almost too remote to mention, so you can probably hang your washing out with confidence. However, don't forget to bring it in by late afternoon, because that's when the next dose of patchy rain will arrive.

Surf and Tide

Only 2 feet but impeccably clean. Should be a classic day for longboarders. Tides; 8.2m high at 10:40am and 2.6m low at 5:10pm.

Thursday

Weather

Strong SSE’ly winds, will make it feel a bit chillier than previous days, although the temperature will still peak at a healthy 12C. Skies will be mostly cloudy in th morning, with a spell of heavy and persistent rain in the middle of the day. After that, we will see a few bright or sunny hours, but heavy showers will be back for the evening and the night.

Surf and Tide.

Super-clean west-coast waves all day long, increasing from 3-4 feet in the morning to about 6 feet by dusk. The tide; 7.9m high at 11:40am.

Friday

Weather

One of the wettest days of the week, scattered heavy showers. All brought by a strong WSW’ly wind.

Surf and Tide

The weather may be rotten but the surf looks fantastic. Some pretty clean 8-10 footers on the west coast, and some really clean 3-6 footers up north. Low water 3.3m at 6:50am. High water 7.8m at 12:50pm

The Weekend

A bit of a stormy one, but the worst if it looks set to be overnight, when WSW’ly winds could be as strong as gale force 8-9. By Sunday, winds should have eased to about force 6-7 but that's really not that much of an improvement. As for the weather, heavy showers will come and ho through both days, but it looks as though they will be relatively isolated on Sunday.

Christmas Week

After some more ups and downs on Monday and on Christmas Eve, we should hopefully see the start of some sunny and settled weather for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. So we probably won't be lucky enough to go sledging, but a gorgeous walk on the beach and an inspired dip in the sea could well be on the cards.

The next forecast update should be on Friday evening.
