Friday
Weather
And like a see-saw that wind will revert to a soggy SSW’ly, squeezing out all hopes of sunshine until the late afternoon, but actually raising the temperature to 11 or 12°C. Rain is likely be heaviest in the morning and the mid-afternoon, and there could be some brief mist or fog at times.
Surf and Tide
Yay, some clean waves for the west coast again. Most likely about 4-6 feet and best during the morning. As for the tides, they will swing between a high of 8.7m at 9:10am and a low of 2.3m at 3:30pm.
Saturday
Weather
Frequent heavy showers and a strong to gale force WSW’ly wind. Furthermore, temperatures will only get up to about 9°C, so it's really. Suffice to say, this year's Leap Day is going to be a bit more of a 'curl up indoors' day.
Surf and Tide
Very large waves building through the day. Mostly unmanageable on the west coast, but possibly rideable at L’Ancresse if you really grit your teeth. As for the tides, they will swing between a high of 8.2m at 9:40am and a low of 2.6m at 3:50pm.
Sunday
Weather
For the first day of meteorological spring, we should see the W’ly wind will simmer down to about force 6 and there should be more sunshine in between the showers. Nothing special, but certainly the better day of the weekend and a max temp 10°C doesn't seem out of the question. Head to the area between Town and Fermain for the most pleasant conditions.
Surf and Tide
Big and messy again. Maybe a fun one for windsurfers though. As for the tides, they will swing between a high of 7.8m at 10:10am and a low of 3m at 4:20pm.
Monday and Tuesday
Fresh W’ly winds on Monday, along with some bright sunshine, punctuated by isolated showers. Becoming dry on Tuesday, with hazy sunshine turning increasingly cloudy, as the wind backs to a stronger SW’ly.
The Rest of Next Week
It looks as though the rest of next week will stay moderately unsettled, with the winds locked into a fresh to strong WNW’ly, sunshine and isolated showers, and temperatures no better than the February average. However, there's an increasing signal for high pressure to begin moving in through the weekend (7th & 8th March). That's a long way off, so it's typically uncertain, but it is offering some faint light at the end of the tunnel.
The next forecast update should be with you on Sunday evening.
