Monday
Weather
Much like at the weekend, the sky will be mostly sunny, but every now and then a shower will sweep through. Winds will be WNW’ly force 4-5, occasionally strong force 6, so the east coast and some parts of the south coast will be nicely sheltered. The max temp 9-10°C, followed by a chilly overnight minimum of 4-5°C.
Surf and Tide
Just a load of chop on the west coast I'm afraid. Maybe some fun novelty waves at Petit Bot though, especially around breakfast time. As for the tides, high will be 7.3m at 10:50am and low will be 3.4m at 5pm.
Tuesday
Weather
Another mostly dry and bright day, with just the odd shower rattling around the area during the morning.. those showers aren't likely to be as heavy as on previous days and the wind will only be a gentle or moderate W'ly
Surf and Tide
Slightly cleaner west-coast waves, probably about 4-5 feet, gradually reducing to 2-3 feet. As for the tides, the lows will be around dawn and dusk, and the high will be just 6.9m at 11:40am. Temperatures likely to be a degree cooler than on Monday, but with gentler winds you probably won't notice the difference.
Wednesday
Weather
Another cloudy and wet one I'm afraid, although the details are a little uncertain because a small low pressure system is moving up the Channel and it's precise track will mean the difference between an E’ly wind and a W’ly wind, as well as the difference between the rain arriving in the morning or in the afternoon. Check the next update for those details.
Surf and Tide
With such uncertainty about the wind, there is a very good chance that the surf will be gorgeously clean, but it could easily go the other way, so this good news should be taken with a pinch of salt. Wave heights will probably be 2-3 feet, but we might get treated to the odd 4-footer. Tides very small again, with lows around dawn and dusk and the high at lunchtime.
Thursday and Friday
Thursday is all a bit uncertai again, due to another small scale low, which is going to pass somewhere close to the Channel. It currently looks likely to be the wettest day of the week, but there is a chance that the story could improve to another day of isolated shower (watch this space but don't hold your breath. Friday's forecast is a more confident one for sunny spells and isolated showers. A rather chilly NW'ly wind, making the sheltered south coast the most comfortable place to hang out.
The Weekend
Still pretty lovely on Saturday and probably a degree or two milder too, but possibly turning wet and windy again on Sunday. Unfortunately, with the following week looking mostly breezy and showery, it seems that spring won't be showing it's full splendour for a while yet.
The next forecast update should be with you on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
