Monday
Weather.
Finally, no rain, drizzle or mist. Not even much in the way of cloud or wind. The morning will have a moderate force 4 NNE’ly with steadily clearing skies. Then the afternoon will see the wind drop off to light force 2-3 and the sunshine will be almost unbroken. If you don't have to go to work/school then get your washing on the line, maybe mow the lawn, and then head out for as much vitamin D as you can get. The south coast will be the cream of the crop, but the other coasts will not be far behind. Max temps 11-12°C.
Surf and Tide
Waves 3-4 feet but with a choppy side-shore wind on the west coast. It will be nice and clean at Petit Port, especially around lunchtime, but it's uncertain whether there will be enough swell for a rideable wave there. The tides will be 7.4m high at 11:10am, then 3m low at 5:30pm.
Tuesday
Weather
Pretty much cloudless from beginning to end, with just a light and variable (mainly SW’ly) breeze. These are prime conditions for a ground frost at dawn and then again late in the night. However, the daytime should be quite the opposite, with temperatures easily reaching 12-13°C in Town and the UV index easily hittng 4.
Surf and Tide
Lovely clean 2-3-foot surf at Vazon, maybe some decent 4-foot sets on the west-coast reefs. A tiny tidal range, with a high of about 6.6m just after midday.
Wednesday
Weather
The same fabulousness again, but probably a degree warmer. The actual Vernal Equinox is on Friday, but just two days shy, we will already have more than 12 hours of daylight, with the sun rising at 6:16am and the setting at 6:20pm.
Surf and Tide
Another super-clean surf day. Very much the same as the previous day. Fair-skinned surfers might even want to consider putting a bit of suncream on their faces, especially as the best waves will be through the middle part of the day. High water, just 6.3m at 2pm.
Thursday and Friday
These days are likely to be a slight comedown from the first half of the week. Whether or not we see any rain is very uncertain. Thursday carries a slight risk of some very light rain approaching from the north, whilst Friday could see heavier showers coming up from France. In both cases, the high pressure system that is over the Channel might deflect them away. However, at the very least, we will have a fresh and chilly ENE’ly wind and much more cloud than the previous days. There are bound to be some sunny spells too, but not enough to raise temperatures any higher than 10-11°C.
The Weekend
There is a slim chance of showers on Saturday too, but as the weekend progresses we should return to pristine sunshine. However, this time with a strong ESE’ly wind. The west coast is certainly going to be the nicest area to hang out. Great for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Bad news for wave surfers though... the current expectation is flat as a pancake.
The next forecast update should be with you on Wednesday evening.
