Friday
Weather.
The morning’s moderate NW’ly wind will fall light and variable by the afternoon. At the same time, the cloud and any showers will also be diminishing, such that the afternoon and evening will basically be gorgeous. The max temp should be 11-12°C. Nothing too lofty but probably the warmest day of the week so far.
Surf and Tide
With such a light wind, it's going to be lovely for a heart-racing afternoon dip, or perhaps a paddle on a kayak or a SUP. Not so much as a sniff of surf though. Tiny tidal movements; high water will be about 6.7m at 3:20pm.
Saturday
Weather
Totally dry, mostly sunny and warmer again, this time with the temperature peaking at 13°C. The increase in temperature will be due to the development of a SE’ly breeze, bringing new air from France and Spain. It won't be especially strong, just a moderate force 4. However, it will still be noticeably more comfortable on the sheltered western side of the island.
Surf and Tide
Still flat as a lake I'm afraid. A slight change in the tidal range though; low water 2.9m at 10:30am, high water 7.4m at 4:40pm.
Sunday
Weather
Onward and upward with the temperature, peaking at 14°C this time. However, you probably won't feel the difference because, at the same time, there will be a bit of wind-chill due to the fresh to strong S’ly that develops. As for the weather, that will simply be dry and sunny. With a UV index of 5, it wouldn't be a bad idea to start slapping a bit of sun cream on the old visage.
Surf and Tide
Low tide 2.1m at 11:40am, high tide 8.2m at 5:40pm. It's a long-shot, but there might just be a 1-2 foot wave in the afternoon and evening. Obviously you don't want anywhere to get crowded though, so maybe better to leave it until the next couple of days, when a slightly larger swell should offer a wider range of opportunities.
Next Week
It's looking as though we are in for some rain on Monday, before we return to warm and sunny conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday. The later part of the week is a little uncertain because showers are likely to push northwards from France, possibly affecting us or possibly passing by to the east or the west. In any case, the entire week is looking warmer than average, with winds generally light and mostly from the eastern half of the compass.
My next forecast update should be with you on Sunday. Until then, have fun and stay safe. GWF
