Saturday
Weather
The mist and murk that we saw through much of Friday, will plague us through Saturday morning too. Maybe with a couple of light showers thrown in as well. However, from early afternoon onwards, dry air will come in on a NE'ly breeze, chasing the cloud away and finishing the day with s good few hours of gorgeous sunshine. The max temperature probably 17°C.
Surf and Tide
What a fantastic run of surf. Here’s another clean fun day of 2-3 foot swell. The tidal range just a teeny bit smaller than on Friday, so the spring tides are past their peak. This time the highs will be about 8.8m at 8:50am and 9pm, and the low will be about 1.7m att 3pm.
Sunday
Weather
The last really reliably dry, sunny and warm day for a little while. The wind just a very light E’ly and the temperature peaking at 18 or 19°C with a UV index of 6.
Surf and Tide
The waves; 2-3 feet and even cleaner. Don’t forget your sunscreen if you are surfing on the late morning ebb, or if you are flatwater paddling in the early afternoon. A slight reduction in the tidal range again. This time the highs will be about 8.6m at 9:20am and 9:30pm, and the low will be about 1.9m att 3:30pm.
Monday
Weather
The morning currently looks like a pleasant continuation of Sunday’s fine conditions. However, it does look as though the SW’ly breeze could bring low cloud and drizzly mist as early as the afternoon. There is uncertainty about that timeing though. It might just be a little later, allowing us to salvage another mostly pleasant day.
Surf and Tide
Probably the last small clean day. 1-2 feet for kids and longboarders. Make the most of it because the next pulse of surf (second half of next week) is looking much more rough and ragged. Monday’s high water will be about 8.3m at 9:50am and then low water will be about 2.3m att 4pm.
The Rest of Next week
As mentioned above, there is uncertainty whether the damp and murky weather will be a feature of late Monday or early Tuesday. In either case, the clearance on the other side will be a very brief one, as we are heading into a much more unsettled week than of late… Fresh to strong S’ly or SW’ly winds will pick up overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday, with occasional showers or longer spells of rain likely to come and go through the next couple of days. Temperatures will be very average for therest of the working week, only ever peaking in the very low teens. It could be good news for next weekend though, with the wind most likely to back to a gentle SE’ly, allowing warm dry continental air to woft back over us.
My next forecast update should be with you on Sunday evening.
