Guernsey Weather Fox

7-day Forecast. Starting Monday 27/04/2020

Monday

Weather

A rather cloudy and misty day. Feeling comfortable in the very light NW’ly breeze, but pretty bland on the whole, with only the smallest chance of brief sunshine, and likewise just the slimmest risk of a shower. During the evening however, the shower risk will increase and then we will get some rather persistent rain after midnight.

Surf and Surf

Probably the last small clean day. 1-2 feet for kids and longboarders. Make the most of it because the next pulse of surf (second half of next week) is looking much more rough and chunky. Monday’s high water will be about 8.3m at 9:50am and then low water will be about 2.3m att 4pm.

Tuesday

Weather

A drizzly, rainy morning, but with a decent amount of sunshine by the late afternoon and evening. The wind will be more noticeable than on recent days, picking up to moderate force 4 and coming from a W’ly direction, meaning that Town will be the most sheltered and warmest spot on the island

Surf and Tide

Small and choppy surf, not much good for anyone. Maybe nice for a swim on the east coast though (Bordeaux area), with an 8m high tide at 10:20am, if the rain doesn't put you off.

Wednesday

Weather

An unsettled feel to the day, with heavy showers coming and going, along with a brisker wind, this time a fresh force 5 S'ly, possibly getting up to strong force 6 at times.

Surf and Tide

The west-coast waves will be much cleaner, with the wind blowing in an offshore direction. However, they will probably be too small and weak to catch and ride. This time, high water will be about 7.6m at 11am.

Thursday and Friday

Another unsettled day on Thursday, with stronger wind than on Wednesday (force 6-7). The showers probably heavier but much fewer and further between, and but much fewer and further between, then they should all clear through overnight into Friday, leaving us with a dry and bright day to finish the working week. Friday’s wind will be just a gentle or moderate WSW'ly, generally bringing air of average temperature. However, with Town being on the sheltered side of the island, we could achieve a respectable 16°C there.

The Weekend

Saturday should be as pleasantly uneventful as Friday, with the gentle breeze backing to a S’ly direction and therefore bringing slightly warmer over the islands. The real increase in temperature should come on Sunday though, as the airflow further backs to a SE’ly, bringing a proper continental influence. However, as is so often the case with a SE’ly, it might also bring some heavy thundery downpours in the evening and overnigh
