Guernsey Weather Fox

7+day Forecast. Starting Saturday 02/05/2020

Saturday

Weather

Weatherwise, we can expect total dryness and a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine. Most importantly, with a much lighter wind than on the previous days of this week, it's going to feel a lot warmer, even though the max temperature of 14-15°C doesn't sound particularly staggering. What little wind there is (force 2 to 3) will generally come from the north. Therefore, the south coast should be marginally more toasty than all other areas.

Surf and Tide

Some lovely little 2-3’ waves should be left over from this week’s winds. Best of all in the late morning and then in the afternoon (although steadily getting smaller and weaker). The tides will be pretty small with a high of about 7m at 2:50pm.

Sunday

Weather

The breeze will be just as light, but it will be coming from the SE and it will be bringing warm and humid air. This means a lot more cloud, quite possibly with drizzly rain and perhaps some mist, all balancing out to give pretty much the same temperature as the more sunny Saturday.

Surf and Tide.

This time the surf will be getting bigger during the day, picking up from near flatness in the morning to another healthy 2 to 3 feet in the late afternoon and evening. The tidal range will be getting a little larger, but still on the small side of average. High water will be about 7.5m at 4:50pm.

Monday

Weather

A moderate ENE’ly breeze will bring much drier air to the island's on this day. It may take a few hours in the morning, to completely shake off the cloud and mist, but then we will be looking at an increasingly sunny day with temperatures climbing as high as 16°C (especially on the west and south coasts).

Surf and Tide

Clean 2 to 3 foot swell all day long. However, with a larger tidal range, it will be more important to get your timing right. Low water will be about 2m at 11:10am, high water about 8.2m at 5:10pm.

The Rest of Next Week

With gentle SE'ly winds every day, it's certainly going to be a warm week. Mostly dry and lovely, but there will be a risk of thundery showers pushing up from France at some time on most days (most likely in the late afternoons or evenings). There's a good chance of some great little waves for surfers during the week. But I must emphasise the word little. Perhaps not that exciting for experts, but excellent for learners,

My next forecast update should be with you on Sunday evening.
